Stacie Flint

The art of Stacie Flint transforms bold compositions of everyday themes into a personal world of buoyancy, character, and charm.  Her oil paintings express a domestic life of quirky imperfection and playful abandon. Set in interiors that are at times congenial and harmonious and at others introduce an air of disquiet, the narrative in this work emerges through animated energy, lively brushwork, and rich visual imagery.  The art seeks authenticity through use of accessible imagery and fluid movement within the emotional range.

Stacie embraces Expressionism’s sense of freedom, interprets the brilliant color of the Fauves, and combines Pop with a personal twist.  Influences include Vincent Van Gogh, Ludwig Kirchner, Pierre Bonnard, Henri Matisse, David Hockney, Alice Neel, and Keith Haring.

She also uses her colorful style to paint portraits of her clients and their family life.

Stacie’s paintings, portraits, and commissioned public art are owned nationally and internationally.  A resident of New Paltz, New York, she has exhibited throughout New York’s Mid-Hudson Valley and in New York City, New Jersey, Florida and Montreal, Canada.  Her art has been used for a children’s book, music cd covers, and many magazine covers.  Her work has appeared in The New York Times, Hudson Valley Magazine, Poughkeepsie Journal, New Paltz Times and more.
